Mission Statement: to give students help and guidance to rise above adversity and achieve their full potential.

Career Choice - Find what you would like to do for a career. These sites can help you with the decision-making process and answer questions about how to get where you want after you decide.

Testing - Every Junior must take a college entrance exam. These are what colleges use to determine your acceptance and placement for post-secondary education. We are providing the Compass to the Juniors that attend LHS at no cost to students. If a student wants to take the ACT we will provide a waiver for the fees, however, it is up to the student to attend and take the test.

Post Secondary Choices - Check out the different choices in Idaho. If you are interested it is possible to arrange a campus visit to see what it is really like. The College Fair will be held October 22, 2014, at Hillcrest High School. Plan on attending with your parents.

We recently compiled a comprehensive List of Online Colleges by State. Students can select Idaho and view helpful information about local colleges, including annual tuition, recommend rate, and location. This free, online resource is ideal for prospective students who are considering online education but are also interested in local reputation or nearby campus support services.

Financial Helps - Once you decide what you want to do and where you want to go, it is time to look at how you can afford to get there.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid - www.fafsa.ed.gov   FAFSA is the form required by the federal government for students seeking federal aid.

Scholarships - look around, you may find a scholarship that will work for you. It never hurts to apply. You never know what will happen. Be cautious of websites that have you pay a fee, give you a money back guarantee, want credit card/bank information, or offer exclusive information. Scholarship information should not cost anything to obtain.
