This week, our teachers and staff came together to prepare for the year ahead. They spent time learning, collaborating, and planning so that we can continue to design success for every student.
We celebrated some remarkable achievements from last year — more students learning to read at grade level, more students graduating in four years, and more students earning college credit or CTE certifications. Just as importantly, our students reported that they feel safe, cared for, and connected at school.
As we begin this new year, our employees are committed to building on those successes by focusing on our District’s cornerstones of integrity, teamwork, positivity, and learning for all. These values guide everything we do to create safe, welcoming, and engaging schools for your children.
We’re excited to welcome students back and look forward to another incredible year of growth and learning together!

STUDENT ROUTE DEVIATIONS:
Due to the growth of our District, the safety of our students is our first priority, and we appreciate your cooperation with the Deviation form procedure.
All parents must come into the Transportation office to fill out a deviation form if a student needs to deviate from their home stop for any reason. We will not approve a deviation form over the phone, it will not be faxed, and the schools will not have a copy. The deviation form will not be approved for: play-dates, sleepovers, piano lessons, and other such activities.
The Transportation Office understands family emergency and we are always willing to help in those circumstances. Please feel free to call and speak with someone before you drive to the office and are denied.
- Please be at your bus stop 5 minutes before your scheduled stop time
- Dress for the weather
- Have a reflector or flashlight so the driver can see you waiting in the dark
- Be safe while waiting for the bus no pushing or shoving
- Be respectful to others and the bus driver

This legislative session, the Idaho legislature passed the “Distraction Free Learning Act” to restrict the use of electronic communication devices at school. In response to that bill, we have updated our policy to create a focused, distraction-free learning environment while allowing responsible technology use. Please review these rules at home and talk with your student about responsible device use.
For All Students
- Personal electronic communication devices include mobile phones, tablets, and smart watches, and blue tooth headphones.
- Students are never permitted to use personal communication to take unauthorized photos or videos including in private areas like restrooms or locker rooms.
- The District and school will not assume any liability for lost, stolen, or damaged devices.
- Students are not permitted to charge personal devices in areas where cords create safety hazards.
- Regardless of grade level, students with disabilities or serious medical conditions may be permitted access to electronic communication devices if approved as an accommodation in their Individual Education Plan, 504 Plan, or Medical Plan.
|
|
All personal electronic communication devices must be turned off and kept out of sight at school.
|
Students are permitted to use devices before and after school, during passing periods, and during lunch unless restricted by the building.
Middle schools and high schools will use a color coded plan to inform students when and how personal electronic devices may be used at school.
🔴 Red Light: No devices allowed; must be silenced and put away.
🟡 Yellow Light: Teachers will direct students to use available devices for specific learning activities.
🟢 Green Light: With teacher permission, students may be allowed to use devices for self-directed learning activities.
|
|
Students who are seen using electronic communication devices at school will be asked to turn their device into the classroom teacher.
For repeated offenses, or if a student refuses to turn their device into a teacher, they will be referred to the principal for disciplinary action consistent with the District Code of Student Conduct. Parents may be asked to come to the school to get the device.
Further violations may result in loss of device privileges or other consequences, including possible suspension from school for refusing to comply with Board policy.

Cynthia brings over 10 years of experience in education and a deep passion for supporting multilingual students to our school district. She said, "I am honored to serve as the new English Language Learner (ELL) Coordinator for Bonneville School District 93. I’m committed to ensuring every English learner in our district has access to high-quality instruction, meaningful support, and a welcoming school environment. As someone who is bilingual and dedicated to equity, I value the unique strengths our diverse student population brings to the classroom."
Since I’m new to District 93, I’m eager to learn about the traditions, values, and practices that make this community special. My goal is to be a resource, collaborator, and advocate — not only for our ELL students and their families, but also for the dedicated educators and staff who support them every day.
I look forward to visiting schools, meeting your teams, and exploring how I can best support your work. Please feel free to reach out with questions, ideas, or simply to say hello. I’m excited to be part of the District 93 family and look forward to the journey ahead.

From Lost to Loved: A Continuous Coat Swap
Last spring, hundreds of unclaimed coats from schools across District 93 were gathered and saved for a special purpose. Through the From Lost to Loved program, these coats are now being given new life by helping students in need stay warm this winter.
If you know of a student without a warm winter coat, requests can easily be submitted using the QR code provided. The Bonneville Education Foundation will deliver a coat directly to the student’s school, ensuring no child goes without warmth this season.
Together, we can turn lost into loved—and keep our students cozy all winter long!
