It’s been a busy summer of construction in Bonneville Joint School District 93, fueled in large part by funding from House Bill 521 (HB 521). The legislation provided more than $1 billion statewide for school facility improvements, with D93 receiving roughly $50 million to invest in needed upgrades.
One of the most visible projects was completed at Hillcrest High School, where a new single-point entryway was finished just in time for the start of the school year. District leaders say the new design is a significant safety improvement, ensuring greater security for students, staff, and visitors.
In addition to the entryway, HB 521 funds also supported a complete upgrade to Hillcrest’s landscape sprinkler system. The modernization project, completed in early August, is already showing results, with fresh green grass beginning to return across the campus.
District officials expressed gratitude to the contractors who carried out the improvements. Headwaters Construction led the entryway project, while Outback Landscaping completed the sprinkler system upgrades.
