🗓️ Why Does D93 Have a Different Monday Schedule?
By providing teachers time to learn and work together, giving students time and support to learn what matters most, and giving students who are ready opportunities to keep growing, we are working together to design success for every student.
🤝 Why Do Teachers Need Collaboration Time?
The purpose of teacher collaboration time is provide teachers time to work together to make sure that each and every student learns the things that matter most. This work includes clarifying essential learning, aligning instruction and assessments, reviewing student progress, and planning the next steps and supports students may need.
This Monday, there will also be a special focus on math. Teachers will be working together to strengthen math instruction and improve outcomes for students with support from the ISU Regional Math Center.
⏰ When Is Collaboration Time Scheduled?
The schedule looks a little different at the elementary and secondary levels.
Elementary schools: Each second and fourth Monday is a non-instructional day for students and full-day collaboration day for teachers.
Middle and high schools: Teachers work in collaborative teams every Monday afternoon.
🗓️ What is the Monday Schedule for Middle School and High School Students?
For middle and high school students, Monday mornings are designed to provide individualized intervention, support, and extended learning.
Students who need additional time or help are required to attend school to work directly with teachers on essential learning they have not yet mastered.
Students who have already demonstrated proficiency may be excused from attending in person and provided opportunities to extend their learning at home. For most classes, this time is not intended for new instruction.
📚 Do Middle School and High School Students Have to Attend School on Mondays?
The success of this schedule really depends on partnership with parents. We need your help making sure students attend school when they are required to be there, and we appreciate your encouragement for students to take advantage of extended learning opportunities when they are able to learn from home. That partnership helps us make Monday time work the way it is intended—for each student to get the time, support, or challenge they need.

Pause, Check, and Help Keep Schools Safe
We want to remind students and families that weapons and dangerous objects are prohibited on school property. School property includes school buildings, grounds, parking lots, buses, and vehicles parked on campus.
We understand that some students work in farming, construction, or other industries where they may routinely carry pocketknives, utility knives, or tools. It can be easy to forget that an item is still in a pocket, backpack, or vehicle after work. However, bringing an item that may be considered a weapon onto school property—even unintentionally—can result in serious consequences.
Please help students develop the habit of checking their pockets, backpacks, athletic bags, and vehicles before coming to school. Firearms, knives, look-alike weapons, and other potentially dangerous items should be removed and left at home.
A quick check before leaving home or work can help prevent a serious situation and keep our schools safe. Thank you for partnering with us.
D93 Board Highlights
D93 Students Make History at State and National Competitions
We were proud to recognize three outstanding National History Day state champions during last night's Board meeting!
Eli Merrill and Stirling Woods earned first place in the Group Documentary category for their project about tornadoes. Judges praised the documentary’s professionalism, with one commenting that it felt like watching an actual news segment.
Daphne Funk earned first place in the Individual Exhibit category for her project on Idaho’s Sunshine Mine disaster. At the National History Day competition in Washington, D.C., Daphne’s exhibit was selected to represent Idaho in a special showcase at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History—an incredible honor!
These students were among 33 who represented their school at the state competition and 10 who advanced to compete nationally alongside approximately 2,800 students from across the United States and several other countries.
National History Day projects require months of research, creativity, and hard work. Congratulations to Eli, Stirling, and Daphne on these remarkable accomplishments. We are incredibly proud of the way you represented D93!
Teamwork Makes the Start of School Possible
Last night, Cody Jackson, Director of Facilities and Maintenance, shared an update on the tremendous amount of work completed across D93 this summer—and the projects that are still underway.
The opening of Willow Creek Elementary was one of the summer’s largest accomplishments, but it was only one piece of an incredibly busy season. Crews also continued major renovations at Bonneville High School and Rocky Mountain Middle School; began work on the Thunder Stadium parking lot; completed roofing, HVAC, flooring, painting, lighting, concrete, asphalt, irrigation, restroom, kitchen, locker room, and classroom improvements; relocated portable classrooms; and tackled countless repairs throughout the District. Work is continuing at several schools, including Bonneville High School, Rocky Mountain Middle School, Lincoln High School, and along 49th North near Willow Creek Elementary.
While Cody’s presentation highlighted many impressive projects, his most important message was that preparing for a new school year takes an entire community. Facilities and Maintenance crews worked alongside custodial teams, grounds crews, Technology, Transportation, Child Nutrition, warehouse and moving crews, Human Resources, school administrators, teachers, and staff members across the District. From setting up computers and preparing kitchens to moving classrooms, hiring employees, cleaning buildings, improving school grounds, and working around ongoing construction, every department played an essential role.
Cody shared that even the projects shown during his presentation represented only a small portion of everything accomplished this summer. He also expressed appreciation for the teachers, students, and administrators who have shown patience and flexibility as work continues during the school year.
We are incredibly grateful for the many employees who worked behind the scenes—and often under tight timelines—to make sure our schools were ready to welcome students. It truly takes teamwork to make our schools run, and we are fortunate to have such a dedicated team serving D93.

COW Day (Careers on Wheels) is Coming Up on September 18th.
To make the day a little easier for families, students can enjoy a convenient sack lunch from the cafeteria for the same cost as their regular school lunch. If you’d like your student to have a sack lunch on Careers on Wheels Day, simply let their teacher know. We’d love to help make their day fun, easy, and memorable!

New applications must be completed each school year.
We understand that keeping track of cafeteria balances can be challenging, and we appreciate your help in keeping your child’s account current.
Due to limited staffing, we are no longer able to make individual phone calls to remind families about negative cafeteria balances. To help keep you informed:
Automatic calls and text messages are sent when an account goes into the negative.
Account alerts are also available through LINQ at Linqconnect.com.
Accounts with a balance of -$50.00 or more will automatically be sent to collections.
Please monitor your child’s cafeteria account regularly and make payments as needed to avoid your account reaching the collections threshold.

Bonneville County Library: Learn with Me
The Bonneville County Library is currently seeking families who are interested in their Learn with Me program. This Kindergarten Readiness Program is focused on families who do not qualify for head start and who do not attend private preschool. The Idaho Department of Education is helping share an opportunity for kinship caregivers to provide input on Idaho's first statewide Kinship State Plan.
Led by the Idaho Caregiver Alliance and authorized through Idaho Senate Resolution 118, the State Plan will help identify opportunities to strengthen support for kinship families across Idaho. Input from both caregivers and organizations is an important part of the planning process.
The surveys are open through September 13, 2026. Caregivers who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing for a thank-you gift card.
